Welcome to my web site. I hope you will find all the information you need to plan your adventure whether it is rock climbing, skills courses, roaming the hills or travelling the world.
I have been climbing and mountaineering for over 30 years and have travelled to many parts of the world in pursuit of enjoyment, work and adventure including the Himalaya, Europe and North America. During this time I have climbed grade VII ice, extreme rock, trekked in some of the most stunning parts of the world and have met some amazing people.
I have based myself in Snowdonia since 1983 and have worked as an instructor in centres such as Ogwen Cottage Outdoor Education Centre and Plas y Brenin (the National Mountain Centre). Much of this work was guiding and instructing adults and young people in around the spectacular Snowdonia National Park as well as training and assessing instructors of the future.
I qualified as a Mountain Instructor (MIC) in 1988 and as an International Mountain Leader in 1994; I am a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML). I work as a freelance inspector for the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS), which involves visiting outdoor activity centres and businesses to ensure that their safety systems and activities are run to the highest standards and I also work for the Beacon Climbing Centre, which is North Wales’ biggest and best indoor climbing wall, as their Chief Instructor.
My aim is to offer you all aspects of instruction, guiding and training in the mountains of the UK as well as world wide trekking in a safe, informative and enjoyable way. I offer a personal service, which can be tailored to your individual needs. You can book activities as an individual, a group of friends or as a company.
If you have any questions or would like to talk about your requirements please feel free to contact me. Please forgive me if you don’t receive an answer to your emails straight away, as I am probably out on the hills or crags enjoying myself, but rest assured I will try and reply to any enquiries as soon as I can. |
